MERSHAM is a village pleasantly situated, four miles S.W. from Ashford. The church is a neat edifice, dedicated to St. John. The living is a rectory in the gift of the Archbishop of Canterbury; the Rev. G. Norwood, incumbent. Kingsland Street is one mile N.W.; Quarrington, one mile and a half N.E.; Bokham, two miles north; Brabourn Brimp, one mile south.
